My name is Sérgio Charruadas, also known as itzv3nom-.
My career path has been anything but conventional. After spending over a decade in the hospitality industry, I made the leap into cybersecurity, a field that had long been a passion of mine. In the IT area I always have worked as a Offensive Security Operator/Penetration Tester, helping organizations strengthen their security by simulating real-world cyber threats.
The Leap from Hospitality to Cybersecurity
With a BA in Hospitality & Tourism Management from University College Birmingham, I developed a strong customer-centric mindset, problem-solving skills, and an ability to adapt quickly—traits that turned out to be just as valuable in cybersecurity as they were in hospitality.
Transitioning into a technical field wasn’t easy, but through self-study, hands-on practice, and earning certifications from GIAC, CompTIA, and others, I built the necessary expertise. Now, I apply these skills in security consulting, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, ensuring businesses stay one step ahead of cyber threats.
